The YAZ implementation of ZOOM's C Binding, maintained by <adam@indexdata.dk>, is available as a part of Index Data's YAZ Toolkit, and provides a higher-level interface to the pre-existing low-level YAZ functionality.
It is included in all YAZ releases from 1.8 onwards, but you should get the most recent version.
